If someone ever told you that you weren’t “fit” because of your size, or that you “don’t look like you work out,” then you already understand what bad science feels like.

When people confuse surface-level assumptions with real evidence, they don’t just get it wrong—they cause harm.

You don’t have to “look the part” to be strong.
And you don’t have to “act neurotypical” to belong.
Let’s keep choosing science that makes room for all of us.

At Jolly Bodies, we coach people with evidence-based training…not fear-based fiction.

Your weight is the least interesting thing about you.

When we’re all gone, no one’s going to remember if you tracked every macro, lost those last 10 pounds, or had a six-pack. They will remember how you made them feel. How you made someone laugh so hard they cried. How you showed up for them when they needed a friend. How your presence made the room feel lighter. Or people feel safer.

If you have aesthetic goals,we support you. But let’s not pretend they define your worth. They don’t. Weighing more doesn’t mean you are worth less. Weighing less doesn’t mean you are worth more. Working out every day doesn’t make you an inherently better person than someone else. Not working out every day, or at all, doesn’t make you less than. That’s the truth, even though it’s all been twisted and warped to the point where we don’t even recognize our own biases towards others that based on totally ridiculous ideologies. Have you found yourself placing judgement upon someone based on how they look (positive or negative)? What might happen if we used that collective energy to help our fellow humans discover the joy you have discovered from movement?

This world needs you—not a smaller version, not a more “toned” version, just YOU. Right now. As you are. ❤️

Hey it me with some brain food for you in case you needed it and let’s face it we all do because knowledge is yum 🙋🏼‍♀️

Soreness is not always a reflection of muscular growth, progress, or workout effectiveness.

There is an incorrect correlation between soreness and muscle growth that continues to persist in the fitness industry. Research has long disproven the idea that soreness is necessary for muscular growth. Muscle rebuilding can be initiated independent of any discernible damage to the muscle.

ALSO soreness does not mean a workout is effective. You can be sore from an effective workout, but you can also be sore from workout routines which do not contribute to muscle growth at all. In these scenarios, even if the workout in question may cause you to sweat, breathe hard, and feel exhausted, it may not lead to any changes whatsoever in musculature due to poor design and/or execution (form and technique).

If people are sore from a JB Strong workout, does that mean they did it right?

Soreness does not guarantee that you have executed the workout intentionally. This is why cueing form, tempo, and mind muscle connection techniques is critical - all of which we do in JB Strong.

Take home: you need to focus on feeling the work DURING the workout, not after.
